Emergency Temporary Housing
If you are experiencing homelessness and need emergency temporary housing, the first step is to contact Vermont Economic Services at 800-479-6151 (Monday – Friday from 8am-4:30pm). After 4:30pm or on weekends or holidays, dial 2-1-1 to access this program.

Groundworks Day Shelter
Note: Groundworks Drop-In Center is Temporarily Closed due to COVID-19, please see the information above if you need emergency temporary housing
When the Day Shelter reopens after COVID, you can visit us in the newly constructed building at 54 South Main Street between 7am and 5pm M-F or Saturday mornings from 7am-noon if you need:

- Access to a Phone
- Coffee and Snacks
- Shelter from the Weather
- Case Management
- Outreach and Referrals
- Opportunities for Service
- Job Referrals

- one-time or as-needed help getting through a difficult month.
- household supplies such as pet food, diapers, and toiletries.
Foodworks Curbside Pickup:
Curbside Pickup is available at Foodworks during the following hours. See link below for the Curbside Pickup form.
- Mondays 11am-4pm
- Wednesdays 1pm-6pm
- Fridays 12pm-4pm,
- and the last Saturday of each month from 9am-noon.
Foodworks will deliver two-week supplies of comprehensive food support (meat, produce, dairy, and shelf-stable foods) to those who are unable to pick up food during our open hours. Brattleboro’s Seasonal Overflow Shelter
Groundworks Collaborative operates our community’s seasonal emergency shelter from early November through April each year, but is temporarily closed due to COVID-19. We expect to open the 2021/2022 Seasonal Overflow Shelter in November 2021 in the new building at 54 South Main Street. Please check back here for more information in the fall of 2021 and call Vermont Economic Services (contact information listed above) if you need emergency shelter now.

Representative Payee Services
If you are a recipient of Social Security Benefits (SSI or SSDI) and need help managing your monthly budget and spending, Groundworks’ Representative Payee program may be a good fit for you.
