Groundworks Collaborative’s Commitment to Community

As February brings thoughts of love and connection, Groundworks Collaborative wants to share a heartfelt message about the most profound love of all—the love that shows up every day through community care, support, and collaboration.

Love isn’t just a feeling; it’s an action. For us, love means ensuring that every individual in Brattleboro has their basic needs met with dignity. It means seeing the inherent potential in each person and working tirelessly to support their journey toward stability and self-sufficiency.

The Heartbeat of Our Community: Collaboration

Our work is a testament to the power of collective love. We don’t stand alone in addressing hunger and homelessness—we stand together. Our partnerships with organizations like the Brattleboro Police & Fire Departments, Rescue Inc., volunteer Meal Team groups, Windham & Windsor Housing Trust, Brattleboro Housing Partnerships, Interaction, Turning Point, Brattleboro Food Co-Op’s outreach efforts, the AIDS Project of Southern Vermont, the Downtown Brattleboro Alliance, Brattleboro Retreat, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, and Health Care & Rehabilitation Services (HCRS) amplify our impact and demonstrate how love multiplies when we join forces. No single agency can solve complex community challenges. It takes all of us—to work with compassion, integrity, collective action, and a shared vision of supporting our neighbors.

This winter, our love takes a tangible form. We’ve expanded our shelter capacity, ensuring more individuals have a warm, safe space during the coldest months. Our ongoing projects—the new 40-bed shelter on Royal Road and the Foodworks building on Canal Street—are more than construction sites. They’re physical manifestations of our community’s commitment to supporting one another. At Groundworks, it’s about partnering with individuals, recognizing their unique strengths, and supporting them in achieving their self-identified goals. We believe every person deserves respect, opportunity, and the chance to thrive.

You Make a Difference

As we move through February and look toward 2025, we invite you to join us in continuously showing up with love for this community. Whether through volunteering, donations, or simply spreading awareness, every act of support creates ripples of positive change.

Together, we can build a Brattleboro where love isn’t just a sentiment, but a lived experience—where everyone has a safe home and access to nutritious food.

With gratitude and hope from the team at Groundworks Collaborative
