In Memory of Charles Raubicheck
Charles J. Raubicheck died peacefully July 2025 at the Dartmouth Cheshire Hospital in Keene, NH. Mr. Raubicheck was 78 years old, most beloved husband of Ann S. Macdonald, and father of Alexander Raubicheck of Brooklyn, NY. He also is survived by a brother Walter Raubicheck of Elmont, NY and Marie Raubicheck of Manhattan. Mr. Raubicheck was born in New York City to Catherine and Walter Raubicheck October 9, 1946. He was educated at Chaminade High School on Long Island, Georgetown University School of Arts and Sciences (where he was able to fulfill his passion for acting with the Mask and Bauble Group) and Georgetown University School of Law. After graduation he worked at the General Counsel’s Office of the Food and Drug Administration in Washington, D.C. for several years before moving to private practice in New York City with the former Rogers, Hoge and Hills. At this time, concurrent with his law practice, he began his long tenure of teaching at the New York University of Law as an adjunct Professor. Coming from a family of teachers he was a “natural” at this profession and he served over 30 years there. In this field of FDA Law he met many lawyers who were eager to learn more about this rather “niche practice.” Mr. Raubicheck also was known as a “elegant writer” of multiple legal documents then as well as later in his career. His last tenure was as a partner in the former Frommer Lawrence and Haug, now known as Haug Partners. He retired in 2023 and with his wife, Ann, moved permanently to Vermont first Newfane and then Putney, Vermont. He worked as a volunteer for several local not for profit organizations. He served as an officer of the Select Board of Putney and volunteered for an organization called Groundworks which helps house the homeless in Southern Vermont among other worthy causes. Mr. Raubicheck was a traveler, persuaded by his wife Ann to get off the beaten paths to places such as Patagonia, two African safaris, the Amazon, the caves of Greece and the Middle East (where he delivered a speech in Amman Jordan) and also he insisted upon taking his mother in law who had a longstanding desire to visit Petra. This was the kindness for which he is and was known: A gentle, loving, brilliant man who loved his family, his friends, his schools, and his work.
Groundworks Collaborative is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN: 03-0267404).
